DJI Phantom 2
DJI Phantom 2 is still a contender in todays drone race. While not made for aerobatics, this drone is smooth enough for early, eager pilots!
Key Features
- Up to 28 minute flight time
- 5200 mAh Swappable LiPo Battery
- DJI’s NFZ (No Fly Zone)
For somebody thinking about going commercial, or somebody that wants a capable enough drone for personal use, this could very well be the drone for you. The DJI Phantom 2 comes with everything you need in the box, along with spare parts, to get you flying the day it arrives.
DJI’s No Fly Zone (NFZ) keeps you safe and out of restricted airspace. As crazy at it sounds, it will not allow you to take off or fly into an airspace you should not be entering. As frustrating as that would be immediately, it will keep you safe and able to fly another day.
Pros
- Great entry level price for a starting professional
- DJI’s NFZ (No Fly Zone) keeps you safe
Cons
- No Return to Home feature
- Does not necessarily come with a camera
- Getting harder to find with newer, pricer models available
Conclusions
This would be a good option for somebody looking to experiment with the DJI Phantom Series. Some packages come with only camera mounts, while others come with both camera and gimbals. Pay attention to the fine print when you are shopping. Watch your prices as you may start to approach the DJI Phantom 3 or Mavic Series by the time you add some features or higher quality gimbals with cameras.
