What Is Part 107.35
Operation of Multiple Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) Waiver?
The Operation of Multiple Small Unmanned Aircraft Waiver allows an operator and team to safely have one remote pilot or visual observer responsible for monitoring multiple small unmanned aircraft simultaneously.
From FAA eCFR Website:
Ҥ107.35 Operation of Multiple Small Unmanned Aircraft.
A person may not operate or act as a remote pilot in command or visual observer in the operation of more than one unmanned aircraft at the same time.”
What Does That Mean??
Typically, you need one remote pilot or visual observer for each unmanned vehicle you wish to be in control of. With computers and technology advancing by leaps and bounds, this could hinder your mission. You may come across a situation that would require one remote pilot or visual observer to be monitoring multiple small unmanned aircraft at the same time.
How Many Have Been Approved?
At the time of writing this initially in 2018, approximately 2,200 total Operational Waivers have been submitted and accepted by the FAA. Most of these have been for a Part 107.29 Daylight Operation Waiver. See the full list from the FAA Here.
